An independent Stockholm studio behind Esqueleto Explosivo, Pink Elephants and Midas Golden Touch
Thunderkick Ratings
Our review team has rated Thunderkick Casino Games on the categories below and Thunderkick scores an awesome 79% ratings overall.
Thunderkick Slots: Who Is Behind Them?
Thunderkick is an independent slot studio based in Stockholm, Sweden. It started in 2012 as a small team that wanted to do things differently. Today it has more than 80 people in Stockholm. Every game is designed and built inside its own studio.
That approach shows in the games. Thunderkick slots are known for bold themes. Examples include skeleton bands, pink elephants and a Greek king with a golden touch. As a result, players often recognise a Thunderkick game before they see the logo.
This page explains who Thunderkick is, which regulators license it and how big its game library is. It also covers the best known slots, the newest releases and where you can play them. All company facts were checked against Thunderkick’s own website in October 2026.

History and Independence
Thunderkick began in 2012 as a small studio looking to shake things up. The team chose its own path instead of following the usual rules. Since then, it has grown to more than 80 people, all based in Stockholm.
Independence is a big part of the company’s identity. Thunderkick says that staying independent gives it the freedom to experiment. In an industry where many studios now belong to larger groups, that is fairly unusual. As a result, Thunderkick controls its own themes, release plans and design choices.
The studio also keeps a close eye on detail. Every slot and feature is planned, developed and designed in its own studio. That in-house approach helps explain why Thunderkick games share a recognisable look and sense of humour.
Thunderkick has plenty of well known partners too. Its website shows logos from operators such as William Hill, 888, bet365, Betsson, Casumo, LeoVegas, Videoslots and Svenska Spel. More recently, the studio announced a partnership with Norsk Tipping, Norway’s state-owned gaming operator, on 25 September 2026. Esqueleto Explosivo 2 and Midas Golden Touch were the first two games to join that casino.
Licences and Regulation
Thunderkick says that Thunderkick AB and Thunderkick Malta Ltd are licensed by the Gambling Commission in Great Britain. The account numbers are 40165 and 41752. You can read more about that regulator on our UK Gambling Commission page.
The same website also displays the logos of three more regulators. These are the Malta Gaming Authority, Spelinspektionen in Sweden and the AGCO in Ontario, Canada. For background on each one, see our guides to the Malta Gaming Authority and the Swedish Gambling Authority. Our global gambling regulations overview compares the other major regulators.
A studio licence is not the same as a casino licence, however. Thunderkick’s licences cover the company as a game supplier. Each casino that offers its slots still needs its own licence. Before you play, always check which regulator oversees the casino itself.
How Many Games Does Thunderkick Have?
Thunderkick’s official games page lists more than 100 titles. That count includes a few games marked as upcoming, such as Shark Park and The Wildos Xmas Xpress. It also includes ‘Reborn’ editions of older games, for example Pink Elephants 2, Carnival Queen and Esqueleto Explosivo 2. The true number of separate slots is therefore a little lower.
Thunderkick makes slots and nothing else. The official list has no table games, no live dealer games and no bingo. A few titles sit in a ‘Classic’ category, but most are modern video slots with bonus rounds.
The official site sorts its games into themes. These include Adventure, Animals, Geographical, Historical, Holidays, Legends, Mythologies and Sci-fi. It also groups sequels into Series, such as Esqueleto Explosivo, Midas Golden Touch, Pink Elephants and The Wildos. If you enjoy one game in a series, the others are an easy next step.
Popular Thunderkick Slots and Their RTP
The table below shows five Thunderkick slots. The figures come from the studio’s own game pages, checked in October 2026.
| Slot | Layout | RTP | Volatility | Max win |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Esqueleto Explosivo 3 | 5×5 cluster pays | 94.22% | High | 7,500x |
| Pink Elephants | 6 reels, 4,096 ways | 96.1% | High | 8,200x |
| Midas Golden Touch 3 | 5 reels, 15 paylines | 94.16% | High | 15,000x |
| Bjorn | 8×8 cluster pays | 94.22% | Very high | 5,000x |
| Greedy Pumpking | Hexagonal cluster pays | 94.15% | High | 10,000x |
Notice that four of the five slots have an RTP of around 94%. Pink Elephants is the exception at 96.1%. In practice, this means the newer games return a little less over the long run. Always open the info panel in the game at your casino to see the exact RTP before you play.
Esqueleto Explosivo 3
Esqueleto Explosivo 3 is the third game in the skeleton band series. It uses cluster pays on a 5×5 grid, with avalanche wins and Explosivo Wilds. Players can build Mucho Multipliers during the base game. The bonus game adds free spins and retriggers.
Pink Elephants
Pink Elephants is a six reel slot with 4,096 ways to win. Its Mystery scatter can trigger a bonus game with free spins, symbol transformations and retriggers. It has a higher RTP than most of the newer releases, which makes it a good starting point. The studio also lists Pink Elephants Trinity and a Reborn edition of Pink Elephants 2.
Midas Golden Touch 3
Midas Golden Touch 3 is the most traditional slot in this group. It has five reels and 15 paylines, with a Greek mythology theme. The bonus game offers free spins and retriggers. It also has the biggest max win in the table at 15,000x. For comparison, Thunderkick also lists Midas Golden Touch 2 and Midas Golden Touch: Thunder Pots.
Bjorn
Bjorn is a dark fantasy slot on an 8×8 cluster grid. The hero guards an ancient site against waves of Draugr and Trolls. Avalanche wins build up Loot, Abilities and a Global Multiplier. Thunderkick rates it as very high volatility, so expect long quiet spells between big hits.
Greedy Pumpking
Greedy Pumpking is a Halloween slot on a hexagonal cluster grid. Multiplier Wilds move across the board and merge to grow stronger. During the bonus game, those wilds become persistent. It is one of the studio’s newest releases. Thunderkick covered it in news in early and late October 2026.

Features You Will See in Thunderkick Slots
Thunderkick does not rely on one formula. Its recent games mix several mechanics. For example, Esqueleto Explosivo 3, Bjorn and Greedy Pumpking all use cluster pays. Pink Elephants uses 4,096 ways instead, while Midas Golden Touch 3 sticks to fixed paylines.
Several features appear again and again. Free spins with retriggers show up in most of the games above. Mystery symbols, multiplier wilds and avalanche wins also feature often. In addition, official screenshots for Esqueleto Explosivo 3, Midas Golden Touch 3, Bjorn and Greedy Pumpking show an ante bet option. Greedy Pumpking’s screenshots also show feature buy screens.
Feature options can change from one casino to the next. Some countries restrict ante bets and feature buys. Because of that, the game you see at one casino may play slightly differently at another.
