The Prohibition Era
Between 1920 and 1933, alcohol was banned across the United States. This period is known as Prohibition. Criminals made a fortune selling illegal drink, and home-made liquor was everywhere.
Moonshine became one of the best-known drinks of the era. It was strong, cheap and made in hidden stills, often deep in the countryside. The slot takes that history and turns it into a lighthearted cartoon.
Theme and Design
The game is set in the steamy swamps of the Deep South. Our original review described hillbillies lurking among the trees, and a granny ready to see off any trespassers.
The characters are the stars. You’ll see a hillbilly playing his banjo, an old man puffing on his pipe and granny with her double-barrelled shotgun. Pigs, sardines and the moonshine jug also appear.
Each symbol has its own bright colour scheme, so they stand out well. A banjo soundtrack plays in the background, adding to the fun.
No Card Symbols
Most slots use card values such as 10, J, Q and K as low-paying symbols. Moonshine doesn’t.
Instead, our original review said the lower-paying symbols are themed items. These include sardines, peppers and pumpkins. It’s a small touch, but it makes the reels feel more in keeping with the theme.
Betting and RTP
Our original review said you can bet 1 to 5 coins per payline. Coin sizes run from 0.01 to 1.00. With 25 lines, that gives a wide spread of stakes.

The Sheriff Scatter
The sheriff is the scatter. Scatters don’t need to land on a payline to pay. Their wins are multiplied by your total bet and added to any line wins.
Our original review described both the sheriff and the jug as scatters in one place. Even so, the jug’s main job is to start the bonus.
The Moonshine Bonus
The moonshine jug is the bonus symbol. Land 3 or more jugs to start the Moonshine Bonus.
