The Story Behind the Slot
The film dates from 1933, and it was adapted from the 1897 novel by H. G. Wells. Dr Jack Griffin, a scientist who specialises in optics, develops a drug that makes him invisible and also drives him mad. He wraps himself in bandages, checks in at a country inn and begins a reign of terror, helped by his assistant, Dr Kemp.
NetEnt keeps the black-and-white horror mood, with a moody soundtrack and character icons from the story. If you enjoy classic film tie-ins, see our guide to the best movie themed slots.
Symbols and Walking Wilds
The low symbols are the usual 10, J, Q, K and A, and the higher ones are character icons from the story. There are two wilds: the police officer and Griffin, the mad scientist.
The police officer walks in from the first reel, while Griffin walks in from the last. Each step triggers a re-spin, and this continues until the wild leaves the grid. The wilds also feed the meters that decide the bonus rounds.
Free Spins
When the two wilds land on the same row, you receive 10 free spins in a cat-and-mouse chase. Each additional wild adds four more spins. Two meters track each wild, and whichever fills first decides which bonus you get.
Police Spins
If the police meter fills first, you receive Police Spins: three spins with five burning wilds appearing on each spin. Our original review reported a possible 90,000 coins per spin from this round. NetEnt’s official page does not state a maximum win, so treat that figure as unverified.
Griffin’s Rage
If Griffin’s meter fills first, you play Griffin’s Rage, a pick-and-click game. You visit three locations from the story and pick options that award cash, multipliers of up to 4x or an end-stage item.
Betting Range
Coin value starts at 0.01 and there are 10 bet levels. The minimum bet is 0.20 for the 20 lines, with 50 possible bet combinations. NetEnt does not publish a maximum stake on its page, so check the bet panel in the game.
How to Play The Invisible Man
- Open the game and choose a coin value and bet level.
- Spin and watch for the police officer or Griffin on the outer reels.
- Follow the two meters, which show which bonus is closer.
- Land both wilds on the same row to start the free spins.
Who Will Enjoy It
It suits fans of horror films and players who like a feature-rich slot at a modest stake. If you want a different NetEnt film tie-in, try Planet of the Apes or the archived Aliens slot review. Aliens is no longer available at the casinos we checked, and the review records its theme and features.
RTP and Volatility
The official RTP is 96.30% and the volatility is mid to high. Operators can use different RTP settings, so confirm the figure in the game’s information screen. Our RTP guide explains what the number means.
About NetEnt
NetEnt is one of the best-known slot studios and now part of Evolution. Our NetEnt provider review covers its range, including Blood Suckers, another spooky NetEnt title.
Where to Play and Mobile
NetEnt games are supplied through licensed casinos, so availability depends on the operator and your country. We could not verify the casinos currently carrying this game. The official pages do not state mobile support in the information we could read.
What We Changed in This Review
- Corrected the RTP to the official 96.30% and added volatility.
- Replaced the bet range with the official minimum bet.
- Added the walking wilds, meters and both bonus games in detail.
- Flagged the 90,000-coin figure as unverified.
- Updated the internal links and added an FAQ.
Is The Invisible Man Worth Playing?
Yes, if you like layered features. The walking wilds, two meters and two bonus games give it more depth than most 20-line slots, at a low minimum bet.
