Big Santa Slot Overview
Big Santa is a jolly Christmas slot from Real Time Gaming, better known as RTG. The studio now trades as SpinLogic Gaming, and it still lists Big Santa as one of its current games. Santa has come to town with a sack full of presents. He’s also brought Mrs Claus, Rudolph and the elves along.
SpinLogic describes the game as a five-reel, 25-line slot with high volatility. Its top award is 50,000 times your bet per line. The game is also eligible for free spins promotions. That matters at RTG casinos, which often hand out free spins on named games.
We refreshed this review in October 2026 and checked the key figures against SpinLogic’s own website. As a result, we’ve fixed a mix-up in our older review about the top win. SpinLogic doesn’t publish every detail, so we’ve marked the features that come from our original review.

Theme and Graphics
Big Santa is a traditional Christmas slot with a cheerful, cartoon look. The reels are packed with festive favourites, from Christmas treats and gifts to jolly holly decorations. Santa himself is the star, and he’s every bit as big as the name suggests.
He isn’t alone, either. Mrs Claus, Rudolph and a team of busy elves join him on the reels. As a result, the game feels like a warm family Christmas rather than a snowy winter scene.
The bright colours and friendly characters make it easy on the eye. Want something with more mischief? Iron Dog’s Santa’s Big Bash Megaways shows Santa after one too many at the party.
Paylines, Betting and RTP
SpinLogic lists 25 paylines on its game page. Its game list shows 20 lines for Big Santa, though, so the two pages don’t quite match. Our original review also used 25 lines, so we’ve gone with that figure.
Our older review gave a bet range of $0.25 to $6.25 per spin. SpinLogic doesn’t publish bet limits, and they can vary between casinos. So, check the bet settings at your casino before you play.
SpinLogic doesn’t list an RTP for Big Santa on its website either. Many RTG games come in more than one RTP version, and the casino picks which one you get. For that reason, open the help screen before you spin. Our guide to RTP and online slots explains what the number means.
Volatility and Top Win
SpinLogic rates Big Santa as high volatility. In simple terms, wins may be further apart, but they can be bigger when they land. It suits players who enjoy a bit of risk. On the other hand, it’s less suited to anyone who wants steady small wins.
The top award is 50,000 times your bet per line. That’s an important detail. It’s measured on your line bet, not your total stake. On a 25-line game, your line bet is your total stake divided by 25.
Our older review mixed up these figures. In one place, it said 50,000x your stake, and in another, it said 5,000x. Neither matched SpinLogic’s wording, so we’ve corrected both.
Big Santa Symbols
Rudolph Wild
Rudolph is the wild. He stands in for all the other symbols except the scatter, which helps you complete more winning lines. Based on our original review, he can also land oversized.
Gift Bag Scatter
The gift bag is the scatter. It can land anywhere on the reels, and it’s the key to the free spins.
Festive Characters and Treats
Santa, Mrs Claus and the elves pay the most. Christmas treats, gifts and holly decorations fill the lower-paying spots. Our original review didn’t publish a full paytable, so check the help screen for the exact values.
Big Santa Bonus Features
SpinLogic’s game page lists the core facts but doesn’t describe the bonus rounds in detail. The features below come from our original review. Check the game’s help screen at your casino for the current rules.
- Free spins: triggered by gift bag scatters, with win multipliers.
- Oversized symbols: the wild and the premium symbols can land as giant 2×2 or 3×3 blocks.
- Retriggers: more gift bags during the free spins can add extra spins.
Free Spins
Land three, four or five gift bag scatters to trigger the free spins. Our original review listed these rewards:
| Gift bag scatters | Free spins |
|---|---|
| 3 | 10 |
| 4 | 15 |
| 5 | 20 |
The free spins come with win multipliers, which can boost your payouts during the round. You can also retrigger them by landing more gift bags. The round ends when you run out of free games, or if the maximum payout is reached.
Oversized Symbols
This is the feature that gives Big Santa its name. The wild and the premium symbols can land as oversized blocks covering 2×2 or 3×3 spaces. A giant symbol fills several positions at once, which can complete many lines in a single spin.
These big symbols can appear in both the base game and the free spins. As a result, even a normal spin can suddenly turn into a big win.
How to Play Big Santa
Big Santa is a simple, classic slot. Here’s how to get started:
- Check the help screen: look at the RTP and bet limits at your casino.
- Set your stake: choose your bet using the controls.
- Spin the reels: press Spin, or use Autoplay for a set number of rounds.
- Watch for gift bags: three or more start the free spins.
- Look for giant symbols: oversized blocks can fill several lines at once.
Line wins pay from left to right, starting on the first reel. The gift bag scatter is the exception, as it pays wherever it lands.
What We Changed in This Review
- Top win: our old review quoted both 50,000x and 5,000x your stake. SpinLogic lists 50,000 times your bet per line, so we’ve corrected this.
- Developer name: RTG now trades as SpinLogic Gaming, so we’ve added that.
- Status: we confirmed that SpinLogic still lists Big Santa on its website.
- Features: SpinLogic doesn’t describe the free spins or oversized symbols, so we’ve marked them as coming from our original review.
Big Santa and Other SpinLogic Christmas Slots
SpinLogic currently lists three Christmas slots on its website. Big Santa is one. Sneaky Santa is another five-reel, 25-line game with high volatility. Sweet 16 Blast! Xmas Edition is a festive version of a fruity favourite, with six reels and medium volatility.
One older RTG Christmas game has disappeared. Epic Holiday Party no longer appears in SpinLogic’s game list, so you’re unlikely to find it today. Our page on it suggests festive games you can still play.
Where to Play Big Santa
As an RTG game, Big Santa turns up at RTG casinos. Our guide to RTG slots and casinos lists the main sites. Lobbies change, though, so check the game is there before you deposit.
Players in Australia often call slots pokies. Uptown Pokies is an Australian-facing casino whose lobby lists recent SpinLogic releases, such as Treasure Sparks. Use its search bar to check for Big Santa before you sign up.
December is also the busiest time for RTG casino promotions. Our CryptoSamba Christmas promotions roundup shows the kind of festive deals RTG casinos ran last year.
Playing Big Santa on Mobile
Big Santa works on phones and tablets as well as desktop computers. It runs in your mobile browser, so there’s no app to download. The bold cartoon graphics also look clear on a smaller screen.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Still listed by SpinLogic in 2026

- Free spins with win multipliers
- Eligible for RTG free spins promotions
- Cheerful, family-friendly Christmas theme
Cons
- Top award is measured per line, not per spin

Our Verdict
Big Santa is a bright, traditional Christmas slot with a couple of strong features. The oversized symbols make the base game feel lively, and the free spins add multipliers on top. Keep in mind that the top award is measured per line, and check the RTP before you play. Still, if you enjoy classic festive slots at RTG casinos, Big Santa is a solid pick for the holidays.
