Dragon’s Myth Slot Overview
Dragon’s Myth is a 3D fantasy slot from Rabcat, the Austrian studio known for its film-quality graphics. It plays on 5 reels and 3 rows with 20 paylines. The game first launched in 2015, and it still stands out for its detailed animation.
The story follows a fearless red-haired Viking girl. Her people have suffered from four fire-breathing dragons for hundreds of years. Now she sets out to catch them, and she even dares to enter the dragon’s cave where no one has gone before.
There is a lot going on for a 20-line slot. You get a Dragon Bounty collection feature, free spins that pay both ways, a Dragon’s Cave bonus with fixed wilds and a Gamble option. We have refreshed this review in October 2026 to check each feature and correct some older details.

The Story Behind the Slot
Dragon’s Myth plays out like a short animated film. The reels sit in front of a misty landscape with green fields and jagged mountains. Meanwhile, our young heroine stands beside the reels and reacts as you play.
Rabcat started out making 3D art for video games, and that background shows here. Each dragon has its own look and size, and the symbols move smoothly when they land. In addition, short video scenes play when you trigger the main features.
The soundtrack also plays its part. The music builds when bigger wins land, which adds to the sense of adventure. As a result, even the base game feels lively.
Dragon’s Myth Betting Range
You can bet from 0.20 up to 40.00 per spin. That works out at between 0.01 and 2.00 per line across all 20 lines. So the slot suits both careful players and those who like bigger stakes.
To change your stake, use the Bet button below the reels. Remember that the exact currency and limits can vary slightly between casinos.
RTP and Volatility
The old version of this review listed the RTP as 96.6%. Since then, we have found the game listed at different figures, from 96.1% up to 96.6%. This usually means more than one RTP version exists. Casinos can choose which one they offer.
Topboss Group tip: always open the game’s help or paytable screen before you play. It shows the exact RTP your casino is running, which is the only figure that really matters.
Volatility is low to medium. In plain terms, you can expect fairly regular smaller wins rather than long dry spells followed by huge payouts. This makes Dragon’s Myth a relaxed choice for longer sessions on a modest budget.
Dragon’s Myth Symbols
The symbols tie closely to the story. Four different dragons make up the main paying symbols. Generally, the bigger the dragon, the more it pays.
Wild Symbol
The Dragon Slayer girl is the wild. She replaces all other symbols to help complete wins. However, she cannot stand in for the Free Spins or Bonus symbols.
Scatter Symbol
The scatter carries the words “Free Spins”. Land three or more anywhere on the reels, and you trigger the free spins round. You don’t need them on a payline, so they can appear in any position.
Bonus Symbol
The Bonus symbol only appears during free spins. It takes the place of the Free Spins scatter during the round. When it lands, it opens the Dragon’s Cave feature, which we explain below.
Dragon’s Myth Bonus Features
Dragon’s Myth packs four features into one game. Here is a quick summary before we look at each one in more detail.
- Dragon Bounty: catch all four dragons in the base game for a cash prize.
- Free Spins: win up to 20 free spins with wins paying both ways.
- Dragon’s Cave: pick spots for fixed wilds during extra free spins.
- Gamble: try to double any win by picking the right egg.
Dragon Bounty Feature
Look closely at the bottom right position on reel 5. It works as a special metal cage. Whenever a dragon symbol lands in this spot, you capture that dragon.
The Spin button keeps track of your progress. It has four bars around it, and one lights up for each dragon you catch. Once you capture all four different dragons, the heroine slays them and you collect a cash prize. The feature then resets, so you can start collecting again.
This gives the base game a steady goal to work towards. It is not a life-changing prize, but it adds a nice boost while you wait for the free spins.
Free Spins Feature
Land three, four or five Free Spins scatters anywhere to start the round. The more scatters you land, the more spins you get.
| Scatters | Free spins |
|---|---|
| 3 | 10 |
| 4 | 15 |
| 5 | 20 |
The big change during free spins is that wins pay both ways. Winning combinations count from left to right and from right to left. In effect, this gives you more chances to land a win on every spin.
Dragon’s Cave Feature
The Dragon’s Cave is the highlight of the game. During free spins, a single Bonus symbol is enough to take you inside. You then get three extra free spins on a new set of reels.
Before these spins start, you choose where to place a fixed wild. It stays in place for the rest of the feature, which can help you build bigger wins. Better still, more Bonus symbols can land during the cave spins. Each one adds another fixed wild and keeps the feature going.
Gamble Feature
After any win, you can press the Gamble button below the reels. You will see two eggs, one yellow and one blue. Your job is to pick the egg with a baby dragon inside.
Choose correctly and your win doubles. You can then gamble again, up to five times in a row. On the other hand, a wrong pick means you lose that win and the gamble ends. For this reason, it is best to use the Gamble feature on small wins only, or skip it entirely.
Autoplay
The “A” button opens Autoplay. It spins the reels automatically for a set number of rounds without stopping. There is also a fast play option if you prefer quicker spins.
Before you start Autoplay, set a budget you are happy with. Autoplay is handy, but it is easy to lose track of how much you have spent.
Playing Dragon’s Myth on Mobile
Dragon’s Myth first launched in the Flash era, but that technology is long gone. Today, the game runs directly in your browser on desktop, Android and iPhone at casinos that carry it. You don’t need to download an app.
The 3D graphics still look sharp on a smaller screen. Because the slot is now more than ten years old, not every casino lists it. You will mostly find it at casinos that offer the Games Global library.
About Rabcat
Rabcat was founded in Vienna, Austria, in 2001. It began as an art and animation studio for the video game industry. The team has worked on projects for big names such as Disney Interactive, Microsoft Game Studios and Rockstar Games.
The studio later moved into online casino games. Its slots first reached players through Microgaming’s Quickfire platform. Then, in the mid-2010s, Microgaming signed a deal to supply Rabcat games to its full network of operators. Dragon’s Myth was one of the premium titles named in that agreement.
In 2022, Games Global bought Microgaming’s games portfolio and distribution business. As a result, Rabcat titles now reach casinos through Games Global. If you enjoy the Rabcat style, try the original Castle Builder slot. The Castle Builder II sequel builds on the same idea. For a detective theme, Sherlock of London is also worth a look.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Detailed 3D graphics and fun animated scenes
- Free spins pay both ways
- Dragon’s Cave lets you choose where wilds go
- Dragon Bounty gives the base game a clear goal
- Wide bet range from 0.20 to 40
Cons
- RTP varies between casinos
- Top wins are modest compared to newer slots
- Older game, so fewer casinos carry it
- Gamble feature can wipe out wins quickly
Our Verdict
Dragon’s Myth is a charming, story-driven slot that has aged well. The graphics still impress, and the features work smoothly together. Two-way free spins and the Dragon’s Cave give the game real personality. It won’t suit players chasing massive jackpots. However, if you enjoy steady play and a bit of adventure, it is well worth a spin.
