Queen of Wonderland Megaways Slot Review by iSoftBet
Queen of Wonderland Megaways is a villain-themed slot from iSoftBet. iSoftBet announced it as its biggest release of 2020, according to its own news headline. The game belongs to the studio’s Twisted Tale series and draws on Alice in Wonderland.
It is a Megaways slot, so the number of ways changes on every spin. The maximum is 117,649. Cascades, free spins and a Cash Respins mode add extra features.
This review covers the grid, the bonus rounds and the bonus buy. We could not open iSoftBet’s game page, so the figures come from our earlier review and are marked that way.

Theme, Graphics and Sound
The Twisted Tale series puts storybook villains in the spotlight. Here the foul-tempered Queen of Hearts rules the reels. Her castle forms the backdrop.
The grid is large and colourful. Wonderland characters decorate the paytable. Music and effects add a playful, slightly sinister mood.
Storybook themes appeal to many players. Our guide to popular slot themes online looks at other favourites.
How Megaways Works
Megaways slots change the number of symbols on each reel with every spin. That changes the number of ways to win. The top figure here is 117,649 ways.
More symbols on a reel mean more ways. Because the shape keeps changing, no two spins look the same.
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Megaways | A reel system where symbol counts change each spin |
| Ways to win | Matching symbols on adjacent reels, left to right |
| Max ways | 117,649 in this game |
Betting Range
Our earlier review said the bet range suits all budgets, but it did not give figures. We could not verify the minimum and maximum stakes. Check the game screen at your casino.
Choose a bet that gives you at least 200 spins. Megaways games can have long quiet spells.
RTP and Volatility
Our earlier review gave the RTP as 96.00% and the hit frequency as 34.9. That means a win lands on about one in three spins. Our guide to RTP and online slots explains the figures.
We could not confirm the volatility. Megaways slots with cascades and multipliers often swing widely. Expect a mix of small wins and bursts of action.
Symbols and Paytable
The low symbols are the royals A to 9. They pay 0.5x to 1.5x for six of a kind, according to our earlier review. The premium symbols come from the novel.
| Symbol | Role |
|---|---|
| Queen of Hearts | Top premium symbol |
| King of Hearts, Mad Hatter, White Rabbit | Premium symbols paying 2x to 25x for six |
| A, K, Q, J, 10, 9 | Low paying symbols |
| Cheshire Cat | Mystery symbol |
We did not verify exact symbol values. Open the paytable to see them at your stake.
Cascading Wins
After a win, the winning symbols disappear. New ones drop in to fill the gaps. That can create further wins on the same spin.
Cascades work in both the base game and the free spins. In the free spins, each cascade also raises the multiplier.
Max Megaways Modifier
This modifier appears at random. It forces the reels to expand to their full size. That gives you the full 117,649 ways on that spin.
It is one of the best base game moments. A full grid with a cascade can create a long win chain.
Cheshire Cat Mystery Symbols
The Cheshire Cat can show up at random on the grid. When he does, he changes a randomly chosen symbol. The number of Cat symbols is random.
He appears in both the base game and the free spins. A single change can complete a big win.
Queen of Hearts Free Spins
Three or more scatters in the base game trigger 10 free spins. Each extra scatter beyond the third adds 5 more spins. A progressive multiplier starts at 1x.
The multiplier rises by 1x with every cascade. It does not reset between spins in the round. A long chain of cascades can therefore grow it a lot.
| Free spins element | What it does |
|---|---|
| Trigger | 3 or more scatters |
| Spins | 10, plus 5 per extra scatter |
| Multiplier | Starts at 1x, rises 1x per cascade |
| Cash Respins | Can start inside the round, carrying the multiplier |
Cash Respins
Five or more Cash Respins symbols start this mode. The triggering symbols and the Megaways lock in place. You receive three respins.
Each new cash symbol resets the count to three. The round ends when you run out of respins or the grid fills with special symbols.
Our earlier review called it the first Megaways slot to combine free spins and hold and win respins. We could not verify that claim.
Bonus Buy
Our earlier review said you can buy the free spins or the Cash Respins for 100x your bet. This raises the RTP to 96.86%. We could not verify these numbers.
Bonus buy is banned in some regions, including the UK. Check your local rules before you look for the option.
Buying a bonus costs a lot at once. It can also drain a balance quickly. Use it only if the cost fits your budget.
Strategy and Bankroll Tips
- Choose a stake that gives you at least 200 spins.
- Watch for cascades, since they build the multiplier.
- Set a loss limit before you start.
- Avoid bonus buy unless your budget allows it.
- Take regular breaks.
No tip changes the odds. Every spin is random, and earlier results never affect the next one.
Mobile and Demo Play
iSoftBet builds its games for desktop and mobile. We could not confirm the mobile status of this slot, so check your casino’s game list.
A demo is the safest way to learn the features. Our guide to free online slots explains how to practise.
How a Typical Session Plays
Wins come often, since the hit frequency is high. Many are small. Cascades keep the action moving.
The Cheshire Cat adds surprises. The Max Megaways Modifier adds bigger moments. Then the scatters arrive, and the free spins begin.
In the free spins, the multiplier climbs with each cascade. This is where a session can turn around.
