Lucky Witch Slot Overview
Lucky Witch is a magical Halloween slot from Microgaming, whose game library now sits with Games Global. It’s a classic-style video slot with a friendly witch, a black cat and plenty of spells. The theme is spooky but cosy, a bit like a storybook come to life.
Based on our original review, the game plays on 5 reels and 3 rows, with 15 paylines. Despite its simple layout, it packs in a lot of extras. There’s a stacked witch wild, free spins with doubled wins and four different mystery bonus games.
We refreshed this review in October 2026 to make it clearer and easier to follow. Because we couldn’t check the figures with the studio, we’ve marked the details that come from our original review.

Theme and Graphics
Lucky Witch is set in a witch’s cosy cottage, full of potions, scrolls and spell books. The witch herself is friendly and glamorous, not scary. As a result, the game has a warm, storybook feel that suits any time of year.
The symbols carry the magic theme throughout. You’ll see a black cat, a stone gargoyle, an owl and glowing crystals. Potions, scrolls of spells and grinning pumpkins also play a part in the bonus features.
The graphics are classic Microgaming, with clean artwork and simple animations. They look a little dated next to modern releases. Still, they’re clear and colourful, and they suit the game’s relaxed style.
Betting, RTP and Volatility
Our original review described Lucky Witch as a penny slot, with coin sizes from $0.01 to $0.20 and up to 20 coins per line. It also listed an RTP of 96.40% and medium volatility. We couldn’t confirm these figures with Games Global today.
An RTP of 96.40% would be a little above the average for modern slots. Casinos can also run different versions of the same game, though. So, open the help screen before you play to see the exact RTP. Our guide to RTP and online slots explains what it means.
Topboss Group tip: Lucky Witch has two separate routes to a bonus: potions for the free spins and cauldrons for the mystery games. Keep an eye on both.
Lucky Witch Symbols
Witch Wild
The witch is the wild. She stands in for every symbol except the scatter, to help complete wins. Our original review said she can appear stacked, filling more of a reel at once.
Potion Scatter
The blue potion bottle is the scatter. Three or more anywhere on the reels start the free spins.
Cauldron Bonus Symbol
The cauldron is the bonus symbol. Three of them on reels 1, 3 and 5 start one of four mystery bonus games.
Lucky Witch Bonus Features
Here’s a quick summary of the features from our original review:
- Free spins: 13 free spins with all wins doubled, and they can be retriggered.
- Potion Bonus: pick from 12 potion bottles to reveal prizes.
- Pumpkin Bonus: accept or decline offers from three pumpkins.
- Secret Vault Bonus: pick three of 12 symbols to win coins.
- Spell Book Bonus: pick books to reveal multipliers.
Free Spins
Land three or more potion scatters to win 13 free spins. During the round, every win is doubled. Better still, landing three more potions retriggers the feature, so the spins can keep going.
The Four Mystery Bonus Games
Three cauldrons on reels 1, 3 and 5 start a mystery bonus. The game then picks one of four bonus rounds for you:
| Bonus game | How it works |
|---|---|
| Potion Bonus | Pick from 12 bottles. One holds a Win All prize, and one ends the game. |
| Pumpkin Bonus | Three pumpkins offer prizes. You can decline twice before the last offer is accepted. |
| Secret Vault Bonus | Pick three of 12 symbols to win coins. |
| Spell Book Bonus | Pick red, blue and green books to reveal multipliers. |

This variety is Lucky Witch’s biggest strength. You never quite know which bonus you’ll get, so each one feels like a small surprise.
How to Play Lucky Witch
Lucky Witch is easy to pick up. Follow these steps:

- Watch for potions: three or more start 13 free spins with doubled wins.
- Look for cauldrons: three on reels 1, 3 and 5 start a mystery bonus game.
- Enjoy the bonus: pick carefully to collect your prizes.
What We Changed in This Review
- Studio: Microgaming’s game library is now handled by Games Global, so we’ve added that.
- Figures: we couldn’t confirm the RTP, bets or top win, so we’ve marked them as coming from our original review.
- Clarity: we’ve reorganised the four bonus games into a simple table.
Playing Lucky Witch on Mobile
Most casinos that carry Microgaming games run them in your mobile browser, so you won’t need an app. Lucky Witch’s simple, colourful graphics also suit a smaller screen. Check that the mobile version is available at your casino before you play.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Four different mystery bonus games
- Free spins with doubled wins
- Free spins can be retriggered
- Low penny stakes suit small budgets
Cons
- Current status not confirmed by Games Global
- Older graphics next to modern slots
- Bonus game prizes can be small
- Only 15 paylines
Our Verdict
Lucky Witch is a charming, old-school slot with more features than most games of its age. The four mystery bonuses keep things fresh, and the doubled free spins add real value. The graphics feel dated, and we couldn’t confirm the current figures with Games Global. Still, if it’s in your casino’s lobby, it’s a fun and friendly Halloween choice.
