Black Gold Rush Slot Overview
Black Gold Rush is an energy-themed slot from SkillOnNet. It’s set in a busy oil field, where rigs pump crude from deep under the ground. The theme sounds industrial, but the game has a bright, modern look.
The game plays on 5 reels with 50 paylines. It has an atom wild, scatter-triggered free spins with a multiplier and a points-based bonus round. Our original review listed a top jackpot of 5,000 coins, worth up to $25,000.
It’s a fairly simple slot by today’s standards. That makes it easy to pick up if you’re new to online slots.

Theme and Design
The reels are set in an oil field, with rigs and pipelines in the background. Our original review praised the animations and sound effects. Even with its industrial theme, the game feels lively and well thought out.
The symbols cover the whole energy industry, from oil to electricity:
- Oil rigs and drilling rigs: the heart of the oil rush theme.
- Nuclear plant and gas flame: other sources of power.
- Light bulbs, wall sockets and the sun: symbols of energy in use.
- Cogs and pipes: the machinery behind the scenes.
- Atom: the wild symbol.
Betting and Payouts
Our original review listed a minimum bet of 0.01 and a maximum bet of 250.00. That’s a very wide range. It covers penny players and high rollers alike.
The top jackpot was listed as 5,000 coins, worth up to $25,000 at the highest stake. SkillOnNet doesn’t publish the RTP for this game, and our original review didn’t list one either. Check the help screen at your casino before you play.
Atom Wild
The atom is the wild symbol. It substitutes for all other symbols to complete winning lines. It can’t replace the scatter, though.
With 50 paylines in play, a well-placed wild can complete several wins at once.
Free Spins with a Multiplier
The Black Gold Rush logo is the scatter. Land 2 or more scatters anywhere on the reels to win free spins and a multiplier.
The number of spins depends on how many scatters you land. Our original review listed 2 to 20 free spins for 2 to 5 scatters. Five scatters give you the full 20 spins.
It’s unusual for a slot to award free spins from just 2 scatters. That means the feature should come around fairly often.
Black Gold Rush Bonus Round
Black Gold Rush also has a points system. Bonus points build up as you play. When you reach 1,000 points, a bonus round begins.
Our original review said that on maximum bet, each bonus symbol collected was worth 50 points. So, higher bets fill the meter faster.
How to Play Black Gold Rush
- Set your bet: choose a stake between 0.01 and 250.00.
- Spin the reels: wins pay along 50 fixed lines.
- Look for the atom: it fills in wins as a wild.
- Land 2 or more scatters: this starts the free spins with a multiplier.
- Fill the meter: 1,000 bonus points unlock the bonus round.

What We Changed in This Review
- Status note: we’ve added a note that SkillOnNet doesn’t publish a public game list.
- Figures: we’ve marked the bet range and jackpot as coming from our original review.
- Structure: we’ve added an at-a-glance table, pros and cons, and FAQs.
Who Is Black Gold Rush Best For?
Black Gold Rush suits players who like simple, classic video slots. There are no cascades, Megaways reels or complicated bonus menus. Instead, you get wilds, scatters, free spins and a points meter.
It’s a good fit if you:
- Are new to online slots: the rules are easy to follow.
- Like frequent features: free spins can trigger from just 2 scatters.
- Want flexible stakes: bets range from 0.01 up to 250.00.
Players who want big multipliers or modern features may prefer something newer. Our similar slots below include a more modern take on the oil theme.
Tips for Playing Black Gold Rush
- Check the RTP first: it isn’t published, so look in the game’s help screen.
- Use a low coin value: 50 lines add up quickly if your coin value is high.
- Keep an eye on the points meter: it shows how close you are to the bonus round.
- Set a budget: decide how much you’ll spend before you start spinning.
- Take breaks: simple games are easy to keep playing without noticing the time.
Black Gold Rush vs Black Gold Megaways
Both games share an oil theme, but they play very differently. Black Gold Rush is a classic 50-line slot with a points-based bonus. Black Gold Megaways, from Stakelogic, uses changing reels, cascades and multiplier wilds.
| Feature | Black Gold Rush | Black Gold Megaways |
|---|---|---|
| Studio | SkillOnNet | Stakelogic |
| Layout | 5 reels, 50 paylines | Megaways, up to 117,649 ways |
| Free spins trigger | 2 or more scatters | 4 oil rig scatters |
| Extra features | Points-based bonus round | Five reel modifiers and multiplier wilds |
| Best for | Simple, steady play | Feature-packed, higher risk play |
Understanding the Free Spins Multiplier
The free spins in Black Gold Rush come with a multiplier on your wins. Our original review didn’t list the exact multiplier values. You’ll find them in the game’s help screen.
What we do know is that more scatters mean more spins. That makes landing 4 or 5 scatters the big target in this game. With 20 free spins and a multiplier, even ordinary symbol wins can add up.
Is Black Gold Rush Still Worth Playing?
If your casino still carries it, Black Gold Rush is a pleasant, low-stress slot. The easy free spins trigger keeps things moving, and the wide bet range suits most budgets.
However, it’s an older game with a modest top prize. If you want bigger wins or modern features, newer titles will suit you better. Either way, try it in demo mode first if your casino offers one. That way, you can see how often the scatters land before you spend real money.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Free spins from just 2 scatters
- Very wide bet range
- Extra points-based bonus round
- Unusual energy theme
Cons
- Current status not confirmed
- RTP not published
- Simple features by modern standards
- Top jackpot is modest
Our Verdict
Black Gold Rush is a straightforward, good-looking slot with a different theme. Free spins from just 2 scatters and a points-based bonus keep things moving. It’s light on modern features, and we couldn’t confirm the RTP or current status. If you spot it at a SkillOnNet casino, it’s an easy game to enjoy.
