Roller Coaster Dice Overview
Roller Coaster Dice is an arcade game from Playtech. It isn’t a normal slot. There are no reels or paylines. Instead, you play a dice game of higher, lower or same.
The setting is a theme park, with a roller coaster climbing in the background. As you win, you climb a ladder of prizes. A run of correct guesses can lead to the top prize.
Our original review listed an RTP of 96.97%. Bets ran from $0.10 to $100.

What Is an Arcade Game?
Online casinos offer more than slots. Arcade games, sometimes called instant win games, are quick rounds with simple rules. You don’t need to learn paylines or features.
Roller Coaster Dice fits this style well. Each round is short, and the choices are easy. It’s a nice change if you’ve spent a long time on reels.

How Roller Coaster Dice Plays
You place your bet and a dice roll appears. You then guess whether the next roll will be higher, lower or the same. If you are right, you move up the ladder.
Each correct guess brings you closer to a bigger prize. Check the in-game rules to see when you can collect your win and what happens after a wrong guess.
The Prize Ladder
Our original review listed these ladder wins:
| Correct guesses | Win (original review) |
|---|---|
| 4 | 4x |
| 6 | 7x |
| 8 | 13x |
| 10 | 30x and the top tier |
Ten correct guesses lands the jackpot tier. A seven helps you move up a tier. These are the details from our original review. Check the in-game rules for the exact setup at your casino.
Higher, Lower or Same
The core choice is simple. Look at the number on the dice. Then decide if the next roll is more likely to be higher or lower.
If the current number is low, such as a two, higher is the sensible guess. If it is high, such as a ten, lower makes more sense. Picking the same number is the rarest result.
With two dice, middle totals come up most often. That is basic probability. It doesn’t change the house edge, but it helps you understand the odds.
Theme and Sound
The theme-park backdrop gives the game a fun, light feel. A roller coaster rattles along the track behind the dice. Sound effects add to the sense of a fairground arcade.
Our original review noted a mute button, which is handy if you play in a quiet place. The visuals are simple, but they suit a quick game.
Betting Range and RTP
Our original review listed bets from $0.10 to $100. That covers casual players and bigger spenders. Smaller bets are a good way to learn the game.
The RTP in our original review was 96.97%. That is above the online average of around 96%. We couldn’t confirm the current figure, so check the help screen at your casino. Our guide to RTP and online slots explains how RTP works.

- Try the demo: learn how the ladder works.
- Set your bet: pick a stake that suits your budget.
- Make your guess: higher, lower or same.
- Decide when to stop: collect your win or keep climbing.
Tips for Playing Roller Coaster Dice
- Use the demo first: it costs nothing.

- Remember the odds: middle totals come up most.
- Set a budget: decide your limit before you start.
Who Is Roller Coaster Dice Best For?
This game suits players who want a quick, simple change from slots. There are no complex rules to learn.
It’s a good fit if you:
- Like arcade games: short rounds with clear choices.
- Enjoy risk and reward: each guess is a decision.
- Want a fun theme: the fairground look is light-hearted.

Dice Odds in Plain English
With two dice, totals from two to twelve are possible. Not all totals are equally likely. A seven can be made in more ways than any other total. A two or a twelve can be made in only one way each.
So, when the total sits near seven, the next roll is harder to call. When it sits near the edges, one direction is clearly more likely. This is why many players follow a simple rule of guessing towards the middle.
That rule helps you pick the better guess. It doesn’t remove the house edge. The RTP still shows what the game returns over time.
Roller Coaster Dice Compared with Slots
Slots give you spinning reels, symbols and bonus rounds. Roller Coaster Dice gives you one clear decision each turn. That changes the feel of the game.
| Feature | Roller Coaster Dice | Typical video slot |
|---|---|---|
| Gameplay | Guess higher, lower or same | Spin reels and match symbols |
| Decisions | One per round step | Mostly bet size only |
| Bonus rounds | None in our original review | Often free spins or picks |
| Session feel | Short and tense | Longer and more varied |
Neither style is better. It comes down to what you enjoy. Many players mix both, using dice games as a quick break between longer slot sessions.
Understanding the Risk
Games like this feel skill-based, but luck decides the result. You can use the odds to guide your guesses. You can’t change the outcome of the dice.
Pushing for the top prize is exciting. It’s also hard. A run of ten correct guesses is rare, so most rounds will stop earlier. Plan your play around that.
Playing Responsibly
Quick rounds make it easy to play many times in a short space. A few habits help:
- Set a deposit limit: pick an amount you can afford to lose.
- Take breaks: step away every half hour or so.
- Don’t chase losses: a wrong guess is part of the game.
- Stop when it isn’t fun: walk away on a good note.
Games are entertainment, not income. Treat any win as a bonus.
