Sky Queen Slot by Playtech

Sky Queen Slot Review

Sky Queen is a Playtech slot with an ancient adventure theme. It also launched the Fire Blaze Jackpots suite. Every game in that suite uses a hold and respin feature.

Our earlier page covered this slot in detail. We have rechecked it against Playtech’s own launch announcement. Where the announcement is silent, we say so.

The announcement is short on technical numbers. It does not list the reels, paylines, bet range or RTP. We therefore label those details as coming from our earlier review.

Sky Queen at a Glance

Who Made Sky Queen?

Playtech says Sky Queen came from Rarestone Gaming. This is an Australian studio that had recently joined Playtech’s group of studios. Our page on Rarestone Gaming covers the studio in more detail.

Playtech presents each of its studios as having its own strengths. The Fire Blaze suite is a way to show those strengths in a shared format. As a result, each new game uses the same core feature but adds its own twist.

Playtech says each new Fire Blaze game has a different second feature. This is meant to encourage players to try every release.

Theme and Look

Sky Queen has an ancient culture theme. Our earlier review described a background of pyramids and jungle. It also described Aztec masks, dragon head statues and leopards on the reels.

The Sun plays a key role. It is both a symbol and the heart of the bonus. Therefore the whole game feels warm, golden and busy.

We could not confirm the full symbol list on Playtech’s page. Treat the details as background.

The Hold and Respin Feature

This is the main attraction. Playtech says six or more sun symbols in the main game trigger the Respins feature. Each sun carries a prize.

During the feature, the suns and their prizes stay locked in place. Extra suns that land award more prizes and more respins. In other words, the feature can keep going while new suns appear.

Our earlier review said the respin counter resets to three each time a new sun lands. That is a common design for this kind of feature. Still, we could not confirm it on Playtech’s page, so check the in-game rules.

Our earlier review also said each sun can show a cash prize of up to 50 times your bet. We could not verify that figure either.

The Four Jackpots

Sky Queen has four fixed jackpot tiers: Mini, Minor, Major and Grand. Playtech explains how each one works.

• Mini, Minor or Major: a jackpot star symbol guarantees one of these three. Together they are worth up to 500 times your total bet.
• Grand, in the respins: fill every symbol position with suns to win 2000 times your original stake.
• Grand, in the main game: Playtech says 15 sun symbols on the reels also win the Grand jackpot.

Our earlier review gave the Mini, Minor and Major as 20, 100 and 500 times your stake. That fits Playtech’s top figure of 500 times. We could not confirm the lower two, so check the paytable.

These jackpots are fixed multiples of your bet. They are not progressive jackpots that grow over time. That makes the prize size easy to understand.

Fixed Jackpots Versus Progressive Jackpots

A fixed jackpot always pays the same multiple of your bet. A progressive jackpot grows as players add to a shared pool. Sky Queen uses the fixed type.

This has a clear effect. A higher stake means a higher prize, and the odds do not change with the pool. Therefore you can see the maximum prize before you spin.

If you want a growing pool instead, look at the Age of the Gods series. Those games share a progressive network.

Free Games and Other Features

Our earlier review described a free games round. According to that review, three, four or five temple scatters anywhere on the reels start the round.

The review said these scatters also pay 1, 10 or 50 times your bet, and award 8 free spins. It said the round can retrigger for another 16 spins. It also said the Sky Queen wild appears only on reels two to five.

Playtech’s announcement does not list these details. They may be right, but we cannot confirm them. The in-game help is the best place to check.

Reels, Paylines and Bets

Our earlier review gave a layout of 5 reels, 3 rows and 50 paylines. It also gave a bet range of 0.25 to 500 per spin, and an RTP of 96.50%.

Playtech’s announcement does not state any of these. Casinos can also set different limits and offer different RTP versions. Always open the info panel to see the real figures at your casino.

RTP is the share of stakes a slot returns over a very long time. It does not predict a single session. See our gambling glossary for plain definitions of these terms.

How a Typical Round Plays Out

This simple example shows the flow. It is only an illustration.

• First: you set a bet and spin the reels.
• Next: six sun symbols land, and the respins start.
• Then: the suns lock in place, each showing a prize.
• After that: new suns land, adding prizes and more respins.
• Finally: the feature ends, and all the sun prizes are added to your win.

Most spins will not trigger the feature. Many will pay nothing. That is normal for every slot.

Tips for Playing Sky Queen

No tip can change the odds. Still, a few habits help you stay in control.

• Check the paytable: it shows the real RTP and rules at your casino.
• Set a budget: decide what you can afford before you start.
• Be patient: the feature needs six suns, so it will not land on most spins.
• Do not chase the Grand: it is a rare event.
• Read bonus rules: see our guide to casino bonus terms before you accept an offer.

Take breaks, and stop when you reach your limit.

Who Will Enjoy Sky Queen?

Sky Queen suits players who like hold and respin games. The rules are clear, and the jackpot tiers are easy to follow. The fixed jackpots also appeal to players who dislike complex progressive systems.

It may not suit players who want a deep base game with many bonus types. The main action centres on one feature. Read our casino safety page before you pick a casino to play at.
