Magic Mirror Slot Review: Step Through the Looking Glass for a $10,000 Win
Here’s a slot inspired by fairy tales, with a lot in common with the story of Snow White.
This video slot is powered by Merkur Gaming. It has 5 reels, 3 rows and 10 paylines, and works on any device that can handle HTML5.
This fantasy slot is full of magic and miracles, and you’ll find something new at every turn. Set against a forest backdrop, players will see majestic castles, magnificent unicorns and surprisingly friendly witches. You’ll also get to read from the Magic Book along the way.
The game has stunning designs, memorable animations and great sound effects. Together, they make it engaging and exciting to play.
Magic Mirror first launched back in 2015, and it’s held up well. It’s easy to see why it’s still around: the fairy tale theme is simple to follow, the visuals are charming without feeling dated, and the core mechanics are easy to pick up even if you’ve never played a Merkur slot before.
Magic Mirror Betting Range
Magic Mirror has 10 fixed paylines spread across the screen. You can bet 1 coin per line as the minimum and maximum. Coin size ranges from 0.10 up to 20, and the RTP sits at 95.94%.
An RTP of 95.94% is a touch below the 96% mark many players look for, but it’s still a solid, mid-range figure. The wide coin size range makes this an easy slot to adjust to your budget, whether you want to play it safe or bet bigger for a shot at that $10,000 top win.
Magic Mirror Symbols
The symbols on the Magic Mirror slot reflect the game’s fairy tale theme. You’ll see unicorns, flying carpets, magic wands and magical potion containers, along with classic playing card symbols in a fantasy style.
The Magic Mirror Free Games Feature
The Free Games feature is triggered by the Magic Mirror scatter symbol appearing on the screen. The Magic Mirror also acts as the Wild in this game.
As both Wild and Scatter, the Magic Mirror symbol can substitute for other symbols to help complete a payline. On its own, it doesn’t pay huge amounts, but it does help you land partial combinations across the reels that you might otherwise miss.
Once 3 or more Magic Mirrors land anywhere on the screen, you’ll receive a Free Games Bonus of 10 spins. The game will then automatically choose a Special Symbol for you to use during the round.
Magic Mirror Wild Symbol
The Magic Mirror symbol is the true Wild in this game. If you land 5 Magic Mirror Wilds on an active payline, you can win the game’s top jackpot of $10,000. The Blonde Witch is one of the game’s higher-paying symbols, adding to the fairy tale cast alongside the unicorns and magic wands.
Gamble Feature
The Gamble feature triggers after a win. It’s optional, so think carefully before using it, since it could cost you your winnings.
If you choose to chance it, you could double your winnings with a correct guess.
Who is the Fairest of Them All?
The Special Symbol is used for the Magic Mirror Expanding Feature during the Free Games round.
Here’s the best part: once you land enough matching symbols to win during this round, that symbol expands across the whole reel it appeared on. This can lead to a much bigger cash prize than you’d get from a regular spin.
Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Charming fairy tale theme that still holds up years after release | RTP of 95.94% is slightly below average |
| Combined Wild and Scatter symbol keeps the base game simple | Only 10 paylines compared to newer, higher-line slots |
| Expanding Special Symbol adds real upside to the Free Games round | Gamble Feature carries the usual risk of losing your win |
| Big $10,000 top jackpot from 5 Wilds on a payline | Simple feature set compared to more modern Merkur releases |
Final Verdict
Magic Mirror is a solid pick if you enjoy simple, fairy tale-themed slots that don’t overcomplicate things. The combined Wild and Scatter symbol keeps the base game easy to follow, and the Expanding Special Symbol gives the Free Games round a genuine chance at a big payout.
It’s not the flashiest or highest-paying slot around, but with a $10,000 top jackpot and a well-loved theme, it’s easy to see why Magic Mirror has stayed popular since its 2015 launch.
