TopBetta Status 2026: From PlayUp to NextBet
TopBetta's history, its PlayUp merger and support through NextBet
TopBetta no longer operates as a separate bookmaker. Its customer betting business became part of PlayUp. PlayUp customers later moved to NextBet. This historical page explains the relationship and where former customers can seek help.
What Happened to TopBetta?
TopBetta was an Australian racing and sports betting brand remembered for combining conventional bookmaker markets with betting tournaments. It was later acquired by PlayUp alongside MadBookie.
The legacy brands were brought into the PlayUp operation. NextBet subsequently acquired PlayUp and published a migration notice directing its customers to the NextBet platform from 1 March 2026.
Our NextBet review covers the current sportsbook. It should be used for today’s racing features, sports markets, rewards and payment conditions rather than an old TopBetta offer.

The 2018 acquisition and January 2019 completion announcement describe different stages of the deal. They should not be confused with the later transfer of PlayUp accounts to NextBet.

Why This Is a Historical Listing
An earlier version of this page said Topboss Group had suspended the PlayUp group because it could not access the affiliate programme. That explanation is outdated. We have since published current NextBet and Draftstars reviews.
TopBetta itself has not been verified as independently relaunched. Its page is retained to help readers understand the brand history and locate information about old accounts. We do not advertise a current TopBetta welcome bonus, active tournament schedule or standalone account.
A legacy brand’s status is separate from the current operator’s licence. NextBet services are listed under Nextbet Pty Ltd and the Northern Territory Racing and Wagering Commission. Historical TopBetta licence wording should not be treated as a description of a separate service today.
The Tournament Format People Remember
TopBetta’s old tournaments used a virtual betting bank known as BettaBucks. Participants selected bets on eligible events and competed for leaderboard positions. The virtual bank was part of that tournament format, with cash prizes determined by its rules.
These are historical product details. Do not assume that NextBet currently offers the same TopBetta tournament, BettaBucks structure or prize arrangement.

If You Previously Had a TopBetta Account
If you used TopBetta before the consolidation, contact NextBet support with the email address and any references associated with the account. The operator can check whether it can locate a corresponding legacy or migrated record.
The published migration FAQ confirms arrangements for PlayUp customers, including balances, pending bets and account history. It does not verify the status of every TopBetta account that may have been inactive for years.
The FAQ says existing PlayUp credentials can be used at NextBet. If you only have older TopBetta details, ask support to check them rather than assuming a new registration is needed.
Current support: support@nextbet.com.au or 1800 752 987. Explain that the query concerns a former TopBetta or PlayUp account. Keep transaction references and correspondence, and never share your password.
Old Deposit Details and Promotions
Use the current payment instructions inside your account. The migration notice says debit-card details need to be entered again and that PayID, BPAY and EFT details changed. An old TopBetta deposit instruction should not be relied on.
TopBetta bonus codes, tournament promotions and racing offers from older reviews are historical. They are not presented here as current NextBet benefits. Any current promotion must be checked in the account and its applicable terms.
NextBet and Draftstars apply account restrictions and responsible gambling limits across the shared platform. Moving between the sportsbook and fantasy contests does not provide a separate spending allowance.
