TOPBOSS GROUP GUIDE
WowPot Jackpot Slots: Games, Records and How They Work
A guide to the progressive jackpot series from Games Global, formerly Microgaming, with a record €38.4 million win.
WowPot progressive slots are a family of jackpot games from Games Global, the company that took over Microgaming’s slot catalogue. Every game feeds the same four-tier jackpot network. One lucky spin can change a player’s life.
The series began in 2020. Since then, it has paid out some of the biggest slot prizes ever recorded online. This guide explains how WowPot jackpots work, lists the record wins and covers every game in the series. You can also follow the links to our full slot reviews.
First, a quick note on names. Microgaming sold its games business to Games Global in 2022. As a result, some casinos now list these titles under Games Global. Others still use the Microgaming name. Searching for either name will find the games.

How WowPot Jackpots Work
WowPot is a progressive jackpot network. A small slice of every bet on a WowPot game goes into the jackpot pools. Industry guides put this at around 5% of each stake. Because of this, the prize keeps growing until someone wins it.
Each game has four jackpots. The three smaller prizes drop often. The top WowPot prize drops rarely, but it can be huge. In many games, entering the jackpot feature guarantees one of the four prizes.
| Jackpot | Approximate starting value |
|---|---|
| Mini | 10 |
| Minor | 100 |
| Major | 10,000 |
| WowPot | About 2 million |
Starting values are approximate. They change with the currency your casino uses. Jackpots are usually won at random, in the base game or during free spins. However, some games use a bonus wheel or a pick feature to decide the prize.
Good to know: A higher bet usually raises your chance of entering the jackpot feature. Even so, no bet size guarantees a win. Only stake what you can afford to lose.
Jackpot slots also pay less in the base game. The reason is simple. Part of each stake feeds the jackpot instead of the standard return. For that reason, the base RTP of a jackpot slot is often lower than a regular slot. If you want higher returns, see our guide to the best paying slots by RTP.
Biggest WowPot Wins
WowPot holds the record for the largest online slot jackpot. The win came in December 2023 on Wheel of Wishes. It beat the previous online record of €19.4 million, which was won on a Mega Moolah game. You can read more about that network in our Mega Moolah jackpot slots guide.
| Win | Game | Date |
|---|---|---|
| €38.4 million | Wheel of Wishes WowPot | December 2023 |
| About €17.5 million | Book of Atem WowPot | April 2021 |
| About €11.8 million | Wolf Blaze WowPot Megaways | June 2024 |
Figures come from public reports. Exact amounts can vary with exchange rates.

A Short History of WowPot
WowPot launched in 2020 under the Microgaming name. Wheel of Wishes, built by Alchemy Gaming, was the first game. It brought a four-tier jackpot with a top prize that started at about 2 million.
The series grew quickly. In April 2021, Book of Atem paid out about €17.5 million. Later that year, Microgaming agreed to sell its games business to Games Global. The sale closed in 2022. After that, Games Global took over the WowPot network.
Then came the record. In December 2023, a player won €38.4 million on Wheel of Wishes. In 2024, the Megaways versions joined the series. Wolf Blaze WowPot Megaways paid a reported €11.8 million that June.
WowPot vs Mega Moolah
Both networks come from the same company. Even so, they feel different to play. Mega Moolah is the older game, and it is famous for its lion theme and its Mega jackpot. WowPot is newer, and it spreads its games across many themes.
| Feature | WowPot | Mega Moolah |
|---|---|---|
| Launched | 2020 | 2006 |
| Jackpot tiers | Four | Four |
| Biggest win | €38.4 million | €19.4 million |
| Style | Many themes and studios | Classic jackpot slots |
Neither network is better for every player. Instead, pick the theme and gameplay you enjoy most. Our Mega Moolah guide explains the older network in detail.
Finding WowPot Games at Casinos
Most casinos that carry Games Global slots offer at least a few WowPot games. However, the list differs from site to site. Some countries also restrict jackpot games.
Look for the jackpot ticker inside the game. It shows the current WowPot prize. The same prize is shared across every casino that offers the game. That is why the pot can climb so fast.
If you cannot find a game, try searching under both Games Global and Microgaming. In addition, check the casino’s jackpot or new games section. Before you deposit, confirm that the casino is licensed in your country.
