White Hat Gaming: Casino Platform and White Label Provider

White Hat Gaming (WHG) is an iGaming company that builds casino and sportsbook platforms. Its main product is a player account management system, or PAM. Operators use it to run their sites.

WHG also runs its own online casino brands. Players may know names such as PlayZee, Casimba and Slotnite without knowing that one company manages them all.

This guide explains what WHG does, which casino brands it manages and how it is licensed. It also shows what to check before you sign up at one of its casinos.

Quick answer: White Hat Gaming was founded in 2012 and is registered in Malta. The footers of six casinos we checked each say the brand is managed by White Hat Gaming Limited. Those sites are licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority and, for Great Britain, the UK Gambling Commission.

The Story Behind White Hat Gaming

WHG describes its history on its own site. Founder Max Wright became a casino operator on the Microgaming platform in 2006. He sold that business in 2011 and moved into gaming software. He set up White Hat Gaming in 2012.

Year Milestone
2012 White Hat Gaming founded
2015 Andrew Lenard joins, now Chief Financial Officer
2016 Phil Gelvan becomes Chief Executive Officer
2018 Andrew Towills joins as Global Head of Compliance
2021 White Hat Studios created through the purchase of a remote gaming server, brand and game catalogue from Blueprint Gaming

Our earlier review said that WHG had more than 300 staff in five countries. The company site now confirms five office locations. It does not state a headcount, so we do not repeat that figure.

The site also does not name its owner or parent company. We therefore do not claim a parent, and we have not found a first-party statement on ownership.

The leadership team listed on the site includes Phil Gelvan as CEO and Andrew Lenard as CFO. Max Wright remains involved in business development.

What the Platform Offers

WHG calls its platform modular. An operator can take the PAM alone, or add more modules until it has a full white label casino. Each choice changes how much work the operator must do.

  • PAM: the core system that stores player accounts and handles logins, balances and transactions.
  • Games: more than 3,000 titles from about 120 providers, all through one connection. The homepage shows a slightly higher figure of 130+ providers.
  • Sportsbook: the Kambi sportsbook is available through the platform.
  • CRM tools: tools for promotions and player communication.
  • Payments: a range of payment methods that operators can switch on.
  • Travelling Wallet: a proprietary feature that lets a player use one balance across devices and experiences.

Our earlier review listed more services, such as hosting, affiliate set-up, custom website design and licensing support. It also described 24/7 customer support and dedicated responsible gambling teams. We could not confirm these on the current site, so treat them as historical notes.

White Hat Studios

In 2021, WHG launched White Hat Studios. The studio began with a remote gaming server, a brand and a game catalogue that it bought from Blueprint Gaming.

White Hat Studios now offers content from Blueprint, Reel Time, Merkur and Lucksome Studios. WHG aims this content at the US market. The move shows how the company has grown beyond running casinos in Europe.

Licences and Regulation

WHG holds licences in several regions. The company site splits them across two main entities.

  • White Hat Gaming Limited (Malta): holds a UK Gambling Commission licence for Great Britain and Malta Gaming Authority licences. It also lists a 2025 Malta recognition notice.
  • White Hat Gaming Inc (Delaware): lists 26 US and Canadian gaming licences. They include Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Ontario.

The careers page also states that WHG holds more than 20 operational licences and more than 150 personal licences worldwide.

Our pages on the Malta Gaming Authority and the UK Gambling Commission explain these regulators. Always check the licence number in the casino footer before you deposit.

A licence does not make a casino perfect. It does give you a regulator to contact if a dispute is not solved by the casino itself. That is a real benefit when money is at stake.

White Hat Gaming Casinos We Checked

We checked the footer of six casinos that our earlier review linked to WHG. Each one states that it is a brand managed by White Hat Gaming Limited. All six showed current copyright notices and active promotions at the time of our check.

Casino Brand status Our review
G’Day Casino Managed by White Hat Gaming Limited G’Day Casino NZ review
Hello Casino Managed by White Hat Gaming Limited Hello Casino NZ review
PlayZee Managed by White Hat Gaming Limited PlayZee Casino review
21Prive Managed by White Hat Gaming Limited 21Prive Casino review
Casimba Managed by White Hat Gaming Limited Casimba Casino review
Slotnite Managed by White Hat Gaming Limited Slotnite Casino review

These sites share the same Malta licence number, MGA/B2C/370/2017. Customers in Great Britain fall under the UK licence instead. Availability, bonuses and games differ for each brand and country, so read each casino’s own terms.

Why Players Should Care About the Operator

When one company runs several casino brands, the same rules often apply across them. This can be good or bad.

  • Licence: a licence problem would affect all the brands, so check the register.
  • Terms: bonus rules and withdrawal limits may look alike across sites.
  • Support: a complaint at one brand may go through the same team as another.
  • Self-exclusion: check each casino’s terms to see whether it covers the other brands.

This is why we list the operator on our reviews. It helps you see which sites sit under one roof. A new brand with a familiar company behind it can feel safer than an unknown site.

Even so, a known operator does not guarantee a good experience. Read recent player feedback on the support and payout speed of each brand. Then compare the bonus terms before you pick one.

How to Check a WHG Casino Before You Join

A quick check can save problems later. Follow these steps for any casino.

  • Scroll to the footer and note the operator name and licence number.
  • Look up the licence on the regulator’s public register.
  • Read the welcome bonus terms, including wagering and max bet rules.
  • Check which payment methods work in your country.
  • Test the live chat with a simple question.
  • Set deposit limits in your account before you play.

Our guide on accepting online casino bonuses explains the terms that matter most.
