Norse King of Asgard Slot Overview
Norse King of Asgard is part of Playtech’s popular Age of the Gods series. This time, the series heads north to the realm of Norse myth. Odin rules as King of Asgard, and as king of the reels too.
The game plays on 6 reels with 50 paylines. Our original review listed an RTP of 96.67% and low to medium variance. Odin and Loki are the wilds, and their rivalry drives the main feature.
That feature is Odin’s Fury Re-Spins. Odin’s stacked wild moves across the reels with a rising multiplier. There’s also a chance to win one of the Age of the Gods progressive jackpots.

Theme and Design
The game is set high in the heavens, with Odin’s castle as the backdrop. Our original review praised its unique design and the punchy musical score. It feels like a grand Norse saga.
You’ll meet Odin, Loki, Thor and the frost giants. Odin’s ravens, Loki’s wolf and a giant serpent also appear. It’s a rich cast for fans of Norse mythology.
The Norse Gods on the Reels
Norse myth is full of colourful characters. Here are the main ones you’ll see in this game:
- Odin: the All-Father and King of Asgard.
- Loki: the cunning trickster god.
- Thor: the god of thunder.
- Jotnar: the frost giants.
- Fenrir: Loki’s monstrous wolf.
- Jormungandr: the giant serpent.
- Huginn and Muninn: Odin’s two ravens.
Betting and RTP
Our original review said you choose your bet with the plus and minus buttons. Each bet covers all 50 paylines. Bets ranged from $0.10 up to $500 per spin.
The RTP was listed at 96.67%, with low to medium variance. That suggests fairly regular wins, without too many long dry spells. Check the help screen at your casino for the current figures.
Norse King of Asgard Symbols and Paytable
The usual card symbols are replaced with Viking rune symbols. The higher-paying symbols show gods and monsters. Our original review said high-value symbols pay for 2 to 6 matches, and low-value symbols for 3 to 6.
Here’s what 6 matching symbols paid in our original review:
| Symbol | 6 of a kind (original review) |
|---|---|
| Thor | 8x |
| Jotnar (frost giant) | 5x |
| Fenrir (wolf) | 5x |
| Huginn and Muninn (ravens) | 3x |
| Jormungandr (serpent) | 3x |
| Viking rune symbols | 1.6x |
The Wild Symbols
Odin and Loki both act as wilds. They substitute for other symbols to complete wins.
Odin appears as a stacked wild. When he fills a whole reel, he can trigger the game’s main feature.
Odin’s Fury Re-Spins
Odin’s Fury Re-Spins start when Odin lands fully stacked on any of reels 2 to 6. It’s the game’s only bonus feature, and it’s a good one.
Our original review explained how it works:
- Odin moves left: on each re-spin, his stacked wild moves one reel to the left.
- The multiplier rises: it goes up by 1x on every re-spin.
- Loki can help: if Loki lands to the left of Odin, he pushes Odin back one reel.
- The feature ends: when Odin reaches reel 1.
That’s why reel 6 is the best place for Odin to land. He has five reels to travel, so the multiplier has longer to grow.
Loki is a trickster, but here he’s on your side. Each push from Loki keeps the re-spins going a little longer.
The Age of the Gods Jackpots
Like the rest of the series, Norse King of Asgard is linked to progressive jackpots. These can be won at random on any spin.
Our original review listed two jackpots for this game:
| Jackpot | What our original review said |
|---|---|
| Daily Jackpot | Guaranteed to drop within a set time. Some casinos call it the Extra Jackpot. |
| Ultimate Power Jackpot | A progressive jackpot with a base figure of $100,000 |
Jackpot names and levels can vary between casinos and over time. Check the jackpot display at your casino for the current details.
The Max Win
Our original review listed a base game max win of 400x your stake. That’s for filling the screen with the top symbol. It also said Odin’s Fury Re-Spins could pay 5 to 10 times more. Treat these figures with caution, as we couldn’t confirm them with Playtech.

How Moving Wilds Work
A moving wild is a wild that shifts position on each spin or re-spin. In this game, Odin’s stacked wild moves one reel to the left each time.
That gives you several chances to win with the same wild. Each step also raises the multiplier. So, the longer Odin stays on the reels, the more each win is worth.
Loki adds a fun twist. By pushing Odin back, he can give you extra re-spins at an even higher multiplier.
