What Happened to Mansion Casino
Mansion Casino was one of the better-known online casino brands. It launched in 2004 and became familiar to many players through its sponsorship deals in football.
The closure came in two steps, according to trade press reports.
- January 2023: Mansion Group said it would leave the UK market after more than 20 years. It planned to surrender its UK licence and close its UK-facing brands, including MansionCasino.com. The group said it wanted to focus on markets such as Spain and Ontario.
- October 2023: The group told affiliates that it was closing all of its consumer casino brands. Gaming on MansionCasino.com and Casino.com was due to end on 26 October 2023. The group described the decision as a difficult one that followed a review of its business.
These details come from industry news reports, not from a notice on the Mansion site. The reports did not say what would happen to player balances, so we cannot confirm that.
What Is on mansioncasino.com Now?
When we visited mansioncasino.com, we found a Vietnamese-language guide to online casinos. It lists other betting brands and encourages visitors to sign up with them.
This page has no link to the original Mansion Casino. The old operator did not run it. Anyone who still holds an old Mansion account should treat it as a different business.
If You Had an Account at Mansion Casino
Start by gathering your records. Look for your username, old emails and deposit and withdrawal receipts.
Next, if you were a UK player, the UK Gambling Commission’s website explains how historic complaints are handled. Our guide to the UK Gambling Commission describes what the regulator can and cannot do. Because Mansion Group also held a Gibraltar licence, our Gibraltar licence guide may help too.
Finally, change your password on any other site where you used the same one. Do not respond to emails that ask for card details or a fee to release old funds.
What Mansion Casino Offered
Our earlier review described Mansion as a polished all-rounder. It started on the Playtech platform and later added games from other studios. Our earlier page named Microgaming, Pragmatic Play, Blueprint Gaming and Red Tiger among them. See our guides to Playtech and Microgaming for background on those software houses.
Slots
The slot lobby included progressive titles such as Age of the Gods. The Fireblaze series was a featured group. The casino also used themed categories to help players browse.
Table Games and Live Casino
Table fans could play blackjack, roulette, craps, poker, Casino Hold’em and mini baccarat. The live section offered blackjack, roulette, Hold’em and VIP baccarat. There were more than 20 arcade games too. Our live dealer gaming guide explains how live tables work.
Mobile Play
The mobile site worked on iOS, Android and Windows phones. Its layout was simple, so players could find games quickly.
Banking and Support
Our earlier review praised the range of banking options and quick e-wallet payouts. Support ran around the clock by chat, email and phone. These details are historic.
Beware of Look-Alike Mansion Sites
Famous casino names are often copied after a brand closes. A site that uses the Mansion name today is not the original casino. It may not hold a proper licence.
Before you register anywhere, check three things:
- The company name in the footer.
- The licence number and the regulator’s name.
- Whether you can find that licence on the regulator’s own register.
If a site cannot show a clear licence, walk away. Our guide to casinos without licences explains the risks.
Lessons From the Mansion Closure
Mansion was a large, licensed brand with a long history. Even so, it closed within a year of leaving its home market. That shows how fast things can change.
As a result, it pays to withdraw winnings promptly. Do not keep large balances in one casino account. Also check an operator’s status from time to time, especially if a brand stops advertising.
Pros and Cons
| Pros (historic) | Cons |
|---|---|
| Well-known brand from 2004 | Closed |
| UK and Gibraltar licences | Licence surrendered in the UK in 2023 |
| Slots, tables, live games and arcade titles | Old domain now shows an unrelated page |
| Round-the-clock support | Player balance details never confirmed |
