No matter how Roulette is played, online, live or with others, it is considered as one of the most popular casino games and it is really a lot of fun.
Although Roulette is a game of chance and many choose to use betting systems like the Martingale or D’Alembert, or rely on the power of lucky charms and other superstitions, knowing how to wager and what bets are available will still give you the edge over someone who goes in to a game blind.
Outside bets are those placed on the perimeter of the table and bets are placed on groups of numbers or colours and not on a number.
The red/black bet is an easy one and here players must choose either a black or red number to win. Players will find these clearly marked as red or black on the Roulette table. This type of bet is an even money bet and because there are two slots with no colour, the 0 and 00 the odds of winning this bet are usually less than 50/50. The odd/even bet is choosing whether an odd or even number will win and is also an even money bet.
High/low is where players choose a number that will fall in the low section (1-18) or the high (19-36) section. Betting on columns means choosing a number in one of the columns of 12, which goes across the side of the table. When playing this bet the pay out is 2:1 or double the stake. The dozens bet is betting on a dozen numbers, 1-12, 13-24 and 25-36. The pay out here is also 2:1 or double the bet at any CAD casino, or other gaming establishment.
Inside Roulette bets are selections from inside, where the numbers are found.
The straight up bet is betting on any number and if the ball lands in that pocket the player wins. This bet pays out 35:1. A split bet is where players place a bet on the line between two numbers such as 1/2, 13/14, 25/26 and so on. Players can make this bet if the numbers are next to each other and the bet is then split between the two with a pay-out of 17:1. The street bet also known as a trio or steam bet is betting on a number in a row of 3 such as 1, 2, 3 or 4, 5, 6. If the ball lands on any of the three numbers players win and are paid out 11:1.
Like the split, the corner bet or four number or square bet is placing a bet on one of four numbers to land in the pocket.
The number will also need to form a square (touch each other) and will pay out 8:1. Line bets have a pay out of 5:1 and cover a row of three numbers, which need to be consecutive, for example 1-6, 4-9, 7-12 and so forth. The five-number bet is a little more difficult as players can only bet on 0, 00, 1,2 and 3 and has a 13.6% chance of winning with a pay out of 6:1.
The basket bet or a first four bet is a type of Roulette bet placed on 0, 1, 2 and 3 only and pays out 6:1. The snake bet only covers the following numbers 1,5,9,12,14,16,19,23,27,30,32 and 34 and will pay out 2:1, and is one often favoured by those implementing the Martingale system.
These are just a few Roulette bets that players can choose from, but there are many others available, especially when playing online Roulette.
