Jackpot Cleopatra’s Gold Deluxe Slot Review by RTG

Jackpot Cleopatra’s Gold Deluxe Slot Review

Jackpot Cleopatra’s Gold Deluxe is a progressive slot from Real Time Gaming. It is a revamped version of the studio’s classic Cleopatra’s Gold. The new version adds multipliers, free spins and a progressive jackpot. You can read more about the studio in our guide to RTG slots and casinos.

The slot uses 5 reels, 3 rows and 25 fixed paylines. Queen Cleopatra herself presents the game. Impress her, and she may reward you with the jackpot.

The slot made headlines in 2021. European Gaming reported on 27 August 2021 that a South African player won R2,724,363.76 from a single R5 spin at Silver Sands Casino. That win shows what the jackpot can do, but it is exceptional. Most spins return far less.

We could not open a current RTG game page. Because of that, some numbers below come from our original review and are labelled.

Jackpot Cleopatra’s Gold Deluxe at a Glance

The core layout, the $100,000 jackpot seed and the free spins come from the 2021 trade press report. The bet size, volatility and top win come from our original review.

Theme, Graphics and Sound

The backdrop is the sandy dunes of Ancient Egypt. Gold shines on every symbol. The look is rich, and the Nile adds atmosphere in the background.

Low-value symbols are card royals styled as hieroglyphics. Higher values show a Lotus, an Ankh, the Eye of Ra and a Scarab. Five of these on a payline pay between 300x and 1,000x according to our original review.

The soundtrack is calm but regal. Chimes ring out with wins, and the music rises when bonus features start.

Bets and Volatility

The bet is fixed at 0.04 per line. With 25 lines, each spin costs 1 coin. This keeps things simple. You do not need to choose a line count or adjust a stake.

The slot is highly volatile. You may wait a while between wins. Big prizes are possible, including up to 7,500x your bet in the base game according to our original review.

We cannot verify an RTP. Progressive jackpot slots often have lower base game returns because part of each bet feeds the jackpot. Check the game info before you play.

Symbols, Wilds and Scatters

Cleopatra is the highest paying symbol. She is also the Wild. All wins that include the Queen are doubled.

The Pyramid is the Scatter. Three or more trigger the free spins. Landing five scatters pays 500x your stake, according to our original review.

Together, the Wild and Scatter drive almost all of the best moments in the game.

Features and Bonus Games

Free spins

Three or more Pyramid Scatters give you 15 free spins. More scatters during the round retrigger the feature. That can extend the bonus well beyond 15 spins.

Wins in the round carry a 3x multiplier, with the jackpot excluded. Our original review mentioned 4x in its closing summary. The body of the review said 3x, and that matches the standard design, so we use 3x here. Check the in-game help to be sure.

Progressive jackpot

To win the jackpot, you need to land five Cleopatra Wilds. The jackpot resets to $100,000 whenever it is won. It then grows as players place real money bets.

Five Wilds on a payline is a rare outcome. It is a long shot, and you should treat it as a bonus rather than a goal. Bigger jackpots draw more players, but the odds do not change.

Understanding the Jackpot

A progressive jackpot grows with every bet placed across the network. The prize can reach large amounts. In return, the base game often pays less than a non-jackpot slot.

For a player, this is a trade-off. You accept lower regular returns for a small chance at a very large win. If you prefer steady play, a non-progressive slot may suit you better.

Who Will Enjoy This Slot?

Tips for Playing

Set a budget first. Decide how much you can afford to lose. Stop when you reach it.

Do not chase the jackpot with larger deposits. The odds stay the same however much you spend. A big win in the news is an exception, not a pattern.

Check the terms of any casino bonus. Jackpot slots are sometimes excluded or count less towards wagering.

How Cleopatra Doubles Your Wins

Cleopatra is both the Wild and the top symbol. When she helps to form a win, that win is doubled. This applies to line wins in the base game.

The rule makes her the most valuable piece on the reels. A line that would pay modestly can pay twice as much with the Queen in it. She also replaces other symbols, which helps complete lines.

Five Cleopatra Wilds on a payline unlock the progressive jackpot. That is the single most important line in the game. Everything else is a path towards it, or a consolation along the way.

Free Spins and Retriggers

The free spins round gives 15 spins. Pyramid Scatters inside the round add more. Each retrigger extends the bonus and your chance of landing Wilds.

Free spin wins carry a multiplier. The jackpot is excluded from it. In practice, that means the free spins boost normal wins but do not change the size of the jackpot.

The best free spin rounds combine retriggers with Cleopatra Wilds. They are also the rarest. Most rounds end with a moderate return.

What the 2021 Jackpot Win Tells Us

The August 2021 win drew attention because of its size. A player turned a R5 spin into more than R2.7 million. That is a remarkable return on a tiny stake.

It is important to read it for what it is. Progressive jackpots are designed to be rare. One player’s win says nothing about your next spin. The odds are the same for everyone, and the typical result is a loss.

The story does show why people play. The stake was small, and the prize was life-changing. If you accept the odds, a small bet can feel like a fair price for a dream.

Playing Responsibly on a Progressive Slot

Set a firm budget before you start. Never raise it because the jackpot is high. A bigger pot does not improve your odds.

Use deposit limits if your casino offers them. They help you stick to your plan. Take regular breaks as well.

If gambling stops being fun, stop. Most casinos offer cool-off and self-exclusion tools. They are easy to use and worth knowing about.

Where to Play

RTG slots appear at selected casinos. Check that your chosen site holds a valid licence and accepts players from your country. Look at the bonus terms too, because jackpot slots are often excluded from wagering.
