How Amatic Began
Amatic was founded in Austria in 1993 by Reinhold Bauer. It began life as a family business called Amatic Trading GmbH, with just 23 employees. Later, the company changed its name to Amatic Industries GmbH.
In the early years, Amatic focused on gaming machines for land-based casinos. One of its early successes was a multi-game cabinet. It let players choose between several different games on the same machine, which proved very popular.
Today, Amatic is still based in Rutzenmoos, a small town between Salzburg and Linz. The company says more than 90% of what it makes goes abroad. It is also a member of Leitbetriebe Austria, a network of leading Austrian companies.
Amatic describes its online range as “classic roots, modern thrills”. In other words, it takes games that already work on the casino floor and brings them online.
What Amatic Makes
Amatic isn’t just a slot studio. It builds a full range of casino equipment, as well as games. Its products include:
- Slot cabinets for casino floors
- Electronic and automated roulette systems
- Multiplayer gaming systems
- Video lottery terminals (VLTs)
- Jackpot systems that link machines together
- Casino management systems for operators
- Online slots through Amatic Online
This land-based background shapes everything the company does online. Many of its online slots started life on physical machines. As a result, they have already proved popular with real players before they go online.
Amatic Online Slots
Amatic has offered online games since 2015. The online range used to go by the name Amanet. Today, the company calls it Amatic Online.
The online library has grown a lot over the years. Our earlier review counted just over 50 games. Now, Amatic says it has more than 250 online titles, and it continues to release new games regularly.
Classic Slots With a Modern Feel
Amatic is best known for classic fruit slots. Think cherries, lemons, plums, bells and lucky sevens. However, these aren’t dusty old games. Many add modern features such as wilds, free spins and gamble rounds.
The company highlights Hot Fruits, Lucky Joker and Lucky Piggies as good examples of its style. Other well-known titles include Book of Aztec, Arising Phoenix, Noble Cats and Eye of Ra.
We’ve also reviewed Crazy Bee, a fun Amatic slot with a busy bee theme. You’ll find our other Amatic slot reviews further down this page.

Slots make up most of the range. However, Amatic also offers video poker, including Jacks or Better, Deuces Wild, Joker Poker and All American. On top of that, you’ll find blackjack, baccarat, Sic Bo, bingo and its Roulette Grand Jeu series.
Not every casino carries every Amatic game. So if you’re looking for a particular title, search for it by name in the casino lobby.
WILDCAT Gaming
Amatic also works with a sister content brand called WILDCAT Gaming. Casinos can add WILDCAT games through the same connection they use for Amatic. For players, that means more variety at casinos that carry both.
Do Amatic Games Have Jackpots?
Amatic is well known for its jackpot systems on land-based casino floors. These link several machines together, so the prize grows with every bet. Its four-level jackpot, with Micro, Mini, Cash and Megapot tiers, is especially popular in casinos. It also offers “Mystery Jackpots” that can drop on any linked machine.
It’s important to note that these jackpot systems are land-based products. Online, jackpot features vary from game to game and casino to casino. So check the game’s information screen to see whether a slot has a jackpot.
Mobile Play
Amatic builds its online games “mobile-first”. The games run in HTML5, so they work in your browser on phones, tablets and desktop computers. There’s no need to download an app.
The company also says its games use lightweight code. In simple terms, they load quickly and run smoothly, even on a slower connection.
Licensing and Safety
Amatic says its online games are available in more than 15 regulated markets. The company holds a remote licence from the UK Gambling Commission, under account number 47992. It is also approved to supply online games in Spain.
Responsible gaming is part of Amatic’s approach too. The company says it works closely with authorities, experts and scientists to protect players.
